Chim Manavy
CHIM Manavy has worked for the government as a diplomat, for the civil society and for private sector, for more than 43 years ago. During her long career with civil society, Manavy has become a champion for women’s empowerment. She has combined her expertise in diplomatic, media, women entrepreneurs, gender issues, and ICT to create many programs that work for Women Economic Empowerment.
Manavy played a key role representing Cambodia NGOs in the 56th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) that was held in Geneva from 30 September – 18 October 2013.
Manavy is currently the Chairwoman of Legal Aid of Cambodia; Board Advisor to Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Association (CWEA) and Mietophoum Khmer Spirit (a non-profit organization) based in California, USA. She just resigned from the post as Vice-President of a private school. Manavy also hold various positions as Chairwoman of NGO Education Network (NEP) and as Chairwoman / Vice Chairwoman of different NGOs in Cambodia and abroad such as APC (Association for Progressive Communications). Manavy holds an M.A of Law and a B.A degree in International Relations. She has studied in New Zealand and received training in Sweden, and Italy.
