Corporate Turnaround Specialist | Healthcare Reform Advocate | Humanitarian Leader
Dr. H. Mohammad Agus Samsudin, MM is a passionate and visionary leader in Indonesia’s healthcare and social service sectors. As Chairman of the Health Council (MPKU) under Muhammadiyah’s Central Board, he oversees more than 100 hospitals and dozens of clinics across the country. His focus is on improving service quality, broadening access, and strengthening the management of health institutions.
Holding a doctorate in Management from Binus University and with academic roots in Geography and Management from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Agus began his career in the corporate world. However, in 2017, he made the bold decision to dedicate himself fully to Muhammadiyah’s humanitarian mission. Since then, he has been at the forefront of transforming the organization’s healthcare institutions—driving improvements in infrastructure, digital integration, human resource development, and patient-centered care.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Agus led a rapid and effective emergency response. Under his leadership, Muhammadiyah hospitals were swiftly adapted for COVID-19 treatment, thousands of volunteers were mobilized, and aid worth over a trillion rupiah was distributed to vulnerable communities.
His impact extends beyond Indonesia. Agus has built strong collaborations with global partners like WHO, USAID, and UNICEF, and has led humanitarian medical missions to disaster zones in countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh.
A strong believer in inclusive healthcare, Agus also works through LazisMu to integrate philanthropy into the health system—ensuring hospitals can serve all people, regardless of their financial situation.
At the heart of his work is a commitment to ethical leadership, public service, and community empowerment. Through every initiative, Agus continues to push for resilient and inclusive health systems that meet both medical and social needs.
Now, through iBlooming.ai, Agus shares his insights and experiences in leading organizational transformation.
