Him Savy, born in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, began her musical journey in a Khmer classical music family and formally trained from 1979. A graduate of the Royal University of Fine Arts, she is now a teacher at the School of Fine Arts: Music under the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.

Specializing in Cambodian classical singing and the Western flute, she has performed solo flute pieces with orchestras in Indonesia and Germany. As a Khmer Noran singer, Him Savy has toured globally, performing in countries such as Japan, the U.S., Vietnam, Australia, and France.
